Cream Flagstone Walkway Restoration & River Rock Bed | Ashley Park, Schertz TX
July 2026
Cream flagstone walkway restoration, new flagstone path and river rock bed in Ashley Park, Schertz, TX. THE CHALLENGE: The existing flagstone beside the driveway and at the front entry had settled and shifted, there was no path from the side gate to the driveway, and the strip beside the driveway was hard to keep up. WHAT WE DID: After a Texas 811 utility locate, we lifted about 160 sq ft of existing cream ruffled flagstone, rebuilt the base with 3/4 inch road base, weed barrier and a decomposed granite setting bed, and reset it with quarter-minus DG joints, then pressure washed and treated it. We added a new 60 sq ft cream ruffled flagstone path from the side gate to the driveway on compacted road base and a reinforced concrete setting base. Next to the driveway we built an 8 x 40 ft bed of 2-inch Arizona river rock over pre-emergent and weed barrier, edged with about 40 ft of Trex Clamshell composite border along the property line, and sealed all of the flagstone with Trident Hurricane Cat 5. THE RESULT: Level, rich-toned natural stone walkways that frame the existing plantings, plus a clean, low-maintenance rock bed beside the drive. Scope: flagstone restoration and reset, new flagstone walkway, decomposed granite joints, stone sealing, river rock bed, Trex composite border, weed control.
