Landscape refresh with black mulch beds, Palmetto St. Augustine sod and a chop block border in Big Springs, San Antonio, TX. THE CHALLENGE: The beds had thinned out and filled with leaves and weeds, the lawn had bare spots, and the backyard bed on the right side had no defined edge. WHAT WE DID: Our crew did a full-property leaf and debris cleanup, treated the beds for weeds, added enriched topsoil and laid about 17 yards of double-shredded black mulch across the front and remaining beds. Bare lawn areas were replaced with St. Augustine Palmetto sod. In the backyard, we set 30 ft of 4x6 chop block stone border on a concrete footing with mortared joints and mulched the new right-side bed. The refreshed beds now frame the homeowners' flowering perennials. THE RESULT: Clean, rich beds, a fuller lawn and crisp stone edging that make the whole property look cared for.
