A while back, we designed and built their backyard space, and this time they wanted to complete it with a patio extension featuring travertine ivory flooring, custom planter beds, and a modern outdoor kitchen. To bring their vision to life, we first removed the top layer of the existing concrete patio, then framed the new extension and planter beds. Once the new concrete was poured and cured, we installed premium travertine flooring throughout, also topping the planter beds for a seamless, cohesive look. On the left side of the property, we added a custom paver pathway leading to the gate, finished with Texas blend river rock. To protect their new investment, we incorporated a drainage line to prevent water pooling and damage. For planting, our customer wanted time to decide between mulch or rock, so we installed healthy drought-tolerant plants with a weed barrier for a clean, low-maintenance look in the meantime. We also replaced the patio posts with new cedar beams and a custom outdoor kitchen complete with drawers, a charcoal grill, a gas-powered grill, and electrical hookups — perfect for gatherings.
