The challenge: This South San Antonio rental needed real curb appeal and a usable backyard without weekly upkeep for tenants. The design: We replaced high-maintenance lawn out front with Laredo river rock beds, black mulch tree rings and stepping pavers to the porch. Out back, an artificial turf pad framed by Texas black shadow rock and 3/4" crushed limestone anchors the yard, with 2x2 paver walkways tying together the patio, fig tree bed and fire pit. The build: Our crew handled demo and grading, laid commercial weed barrier, set 2x2 pavers on concrete, installed the turf with composite edging, and placed limestone, Laredo rock and black mulch in clean, defined borders along the foundation and fence line. The result: A drought-tolerant xeriscape that looks finished from the street and needs almost no maintenance, a smart upgrade for any San Antonio rental or busy homeowner.
