Backyard K9 pet turf, cream chop block border and paver walkway in Langdon, San Antonio, TX. THE CHALLENGE: This newer home had a bare builder-grade backyard and side yards that turned to mud and weeds, with no usable lawn and no clean path from the gate to the patio. WHAT WE DID: After demo and haul-off, we relocated the irrigation zone out of the lawn, moved heads to the corners, converted one zone to drip along the fence line for the trees and plants, and capped the side-yard heads. We set 100 ft of 4x6 cream chop block limestone on concrete with mortared joints to frame the lawn, and installed about 910 sq ft of K9 pet turf (1-inch Durapet fiber with full drain backing). Fifteen 23x23 inch cream concrete pavers set on concrete make a walkway from the side gate to the back patio, with washed granite between them, and 3-5 inch Texas Blend river rock over weed barrier runs along both side yards and the back fence. THE RESULT: A clean, green, pet-friendly backyard with defined edges, good drainage and an easy path around the home. Scope: artificial pet turf, chop block border, irrigation modification and drip conversion, concrete paver walkway, washed granite, Texas Blend river rock, weed barrier.
