This North San Antonio front yard was overgrown, hard to keep up and hiding a beautiful brick-and-stone home. The homeowners wanted curb appeal that would stay clean without weekly work, and the plan had to pass HOA review. Our design-build crew removed the overgrown shrubs and Elaeagnus, trimmed and raised the canopy on the mature live oak, and laid out flowing beds that follow the front of the house. We hand-set about 50 linear feet of natural chopstone border, filled the beds with Texas Blend river rock and finished a fresh mulch ring around the live oak to protect its roots. Drought-tolerant Texas sage and ornamental grasses add color and movement, and we converted the old spray zone to Rain Bird drip irrigation so every plant gets water at the roots with less waste. The result is a crisp, low-water front yard that looks finished year-round.
