Backyard design and build with a Belgard paver patio, Diamond 9D retaining wall, artificial turf and Montana Brown limestone steps in The Ranches at Creekside, Boerne, TX. THE CHALLENGE: This new home had a bare, sloped backyard under an elevated deck, side yards with no walkways and gutters dumping water near the house. WHAT WE DID: Working from our 3D design, we repaired and relocated the irrigation, added a bubbler zone for trees and drip for the back beds, and ran an 18 ft French drain to reroute the gutters. Under the deck we built a 360 sq ft patio of Belgard Dimensions 12 pavers in Grey Lueders with a Suede soldier course, on 4 inches of road base, plus a 44 sq ft step onto the patio. About 63 ft of Belgard Diamond 9D wall in Danville Beige with caps, drain pipe and limestone drain rock holds the grade, with Montana Brown honed limestone steps down to 450 sq ft of Triblend 96 artificial turf. Thirty-eight 23x23 inch cream pavers lead from the driveway to the gate, 80 ft of cream chop block frames the beds, and we finished with Texas Blend 3-5 inch river rock on the fence line, Texas Black shadow rock between the walkway pavers, 3/4 inch crushed limestone by the A/C, and Eagleston hollies, red yucca and dianella. THE RESULT: A level, usable backyard with a lounge patio, a green turf lawn and clean, well-drained side yards. See the 3D design in our other Ranches at Creekside showcase. Scope: Belgard paver patio, Diamond 9D retaining wall, honed limestone steps, artificial turf, concrete pavers, chop block border, river rock, shadow rock, crushed limestone, French drain, irrigation, planting, 3D design.
