Belgard paver walkway and driveway extension, KoolCote porch resurfacing and chopstone tree rings in Wortham Oaks, San Antonio, TX. THE CHALLENGE: The front of this brick home under mature oaks had a narrow driveway, worn concrete at the porch and walkway that got hot underfoot, and beds and tree bases with no clean edge. WHAT WE DID: Working from our 3D design, we installed about 160 sq ft of Belgard Dimensions 12 pavers in the Crab Orchard blend with a Belgard Suede 6x9 soldier-course border for the walkway and driveway extension, on road base and bedding sand with edge restraint and polymeric sand. The existing patio and walkway were pressure washed, patched and resurfaced with KoolCote spray texture in Austin Ivory with a protective topcoat, about 150 sq ft. We then set 132 ft of 6-inch chopstone on concrete to wrap the back landscape bed and build two tree rings sized for each trunk flare. THE RESULT: A wider, polished entry with a cooler porch surface, defined beds and framed trees that look custom from the street. See the 3D design in our other Wortham Oaks showcase.
