Front yard chopstone border and tree ring in Wortham Oaks, San Antonio, TX. THE CHALLENGE: The front beds were edged with a mix of old chopstone and brick that had shifted and no longer matched, and the front tree had no defined ring. WHAT WE DID: Our crew removed the old chopstone and brick borders and hauled them away, then trenched and laid out about 55 ft of new natural chopstone border along the front beds, set on a concrete footing with mortared joints. A matching chopstone ring was built around the front yard tree, and we backfilled, regraded and cleaned up. THE RESULT: Crisp, permanent stone edging that frames the beds and tree, makes mowing easier and gives the home a clean, finished look. Scope: border demo and removal, chopstone border, chopstone tree ring, concrete footing, final grading.
