We recently completed a complete backyard makeover for a customer who wanted to create a low-maintenance, enjoyable outdoor space. The process began with a free consultation where we took the time to understand the customer’s vision for the space. We also measured the area to determine exactly what was needed to bring that vision to life. The first step in the transformation was prepping the area. We removed the old grass and laid down a solid base, followed by a layer of crushed granite to ensure a stable foundation for the installation of artificial turf. The patio area, however, posed a challenge. The previous contractor had not leveled it properly, creating a noticeable trip hazard and an unappealing surface. To solve this, we demolished the existing patio entirely using our Vermeer S925 with a special attachment designed for heavy-duty work, including some serious hammering. Once the old patio was removed, we installed Belgard pavers in a stylish 45-degree pattern. Pavers not only create a visually appealing design, but they are incredibly durable and resistant to cracking, which ensures a long-lasting surface. They also allow for excellent water drainage, reducing pooling, and their easy-to-replace nature ensures maintenance is a breeze if any damage occurs. Next, our customer wanted more privacy in their backyard. To achieve this, we removed the existing 6-foot fence and replaced it with a brand-new 8-foot fence made from fresh wood, ensuring more seclusion and a more polished look. To finish off the space, we installed lush, green artificial turf across the entire backyard. Artificial turf provides numerous benefits: it’s incredibly low-maintenance, eliminating the need for regular watering, mowing, and fertilizing. It also stays green and vibrant year-round, regardless of weather conditions, offering a consistently beautiful appearance. Additionally, artificial turf is a sustainable solution, helping to conserve water and reduce overall utility costs. To tie the entire design together, we added a clean border along the back side of the fence using our chop block and filled it with shadow rock to create a striking contrast and add texture. This thoughtful detail provided the perfect finishing touch, bringing the entire backyard to life. The result was a low-maintenance, modern, and functional outdoor space that our customer can enjoy without the hassle of constant upkeep, creating a relaxing retreat they’ll love for years to come.
