On October 8, 2026, Hygienic Air cleaned accessible fireplace surfaces using agitation paired with vacuum-truck collection. Negative suction carries loosened deposits toward collection and helps contain dust, while protective runners protect the work area and hose route. We inspected the gas-log burner and firebox, round metal flue and damper, roof cap, chase cover and attachment hardware. Photos documented surface rust at the damper and cap hardware. An important safety finding was wood flooring continuing to the fireplace opening without a visible noncombustible hearth extension. Hearth protection needs correction before use. For this apparent factory-built unit, the verified 2018 IRC R1004.1–R1004.2 reference directs installation and hearth protection to the fireplace listing; the exact dimensions and thermal protection must be verified from its model instructions.
