An early-1900s shingle-style home in New Rochelle with deep eaves, carved rafter brackets, a fieldstone chimney and a round window. We replaced the tired painted wood shingles with James Hardie shingle siding in a soft gray, with white trim, skirt boards and soffits, and repainted the brackets white, keeping every period detail while ending the scrape-and-paint cycle.
