Here is a look at what went into this complete remodel: Demo & Preparation: Stripped off two full layers of historical exterior cladding—including worn-down cedar lap—exposing the underlying studs to assess framing integrity. Structural & Substrate Work: Corrected critical load-bearing framing issues in the crawl space, replaced deteriorated structural sheathing across the back elevation, and completely reconstructed the custom soffit boxes from scratch. Weatherization: Enclosed the bare structure with a high-performance Tyvek weather-resistive barrier, fully integrated with window and door flashing to guard against coastal wind-driven rain and moisture. Main Wall Cladding: Installed James Hardie ColorPlus Board & Batten across the primary field walls using a Deep Ocean finish, offering a bold vertical profile engineered to resist salt air, humidity, and UV fading. Gable Accents: Accentuated the upper gables with Hardie Shingle panels in matching Deep Ocean to introduce rich texture and dimension to the roofline while maintaining a uniform color scheme. Trim Package: Framed windows, doors, corners, and fascia with high-durability Arctic White HardieTrim and PVC Azek board—delivering sharp visual contrast along with maximum moisture resistance at high-exposure areas.
