We performed a comprehensive siding replacement on this multi-story residence in Wilmington to address aging wood shingles and underlying structural concerns. Our team carefully removed the existing cedar shake siding, revealing and repairing extensive water damage and rot on the OSB sheathing. We then installed a modern moisture barrier system, including Tyvek house wrap and new metal flashing, to provide a robust defense against coastal weather. For the new exterior, we installed CertainTeed Cedar Impressions and high-quality vinyl siding to replicate the home's original rustic charm with improved durability. The project included updating the chimney cladding, soffits, and trim, creating a cohesive look across the entire structure. These upgrades significantly improved the home's weather resistance while providing a fresh, low-maintenance finish for the homeowners.
