This Northwest San Antonio master bathroom remodel showcases one of the most popular upgrades in today’s homes—a large shower conversion that replaces the traditional garden tub and separate shower with one expansive, spa-like walk-in shower. By combining the existing footprint of the tub and shower, we were able to create a significantly larger and more functional space designed for comfort, accessibility, and everyday luxury. The new walk-in shower features full-height marble-look wall panels, a low-threshold entry, and a custom bench for added convenience and relaxation. A key design detail in this project is the placement of the shower valve on the entry wall, allowing the homeowner to turn on the water without stepping directly into the stream—an often-overlooked upgrade that makes a big difference in daily use. The clean, modern aesthetic continues throughout with matte black fixtures, a sleek glass enclosure, and a quartz vanity with updated plumbing fixtures. The result is a bright, open space that feels both elevated and highly functional. This type of large shower conversion is especially popular in San Antonio homes where oversized tubs often go unused, offering homeowners a smarter way to maximize space while creating a true spa-like experience.
