Commercial Roofing Installation using 24 Guage Double Lock Standing Seam
Project Overview: For this project, we undertook a significant commercial re-roof, installing a 24-gauge double-lock standing seam metal roof over an expansive 200,000-square-foot area. This roof size is equivalent to nearly 3.5 football fields, giving you an idea of the scale of this massive undertaking. How It Works: The 24-gauge double-lock standing seam system is a top-tier choice for commercial roofing, offering superior durability and weather resistance. This system involves creating a series of interlocking metal panels that are joined together with a double-lock mechanism, ensuring a watertight seal. The panels run from the ridge to the eave, providing a sleek, continuous surface with no horizontal seams, which greatly reduces the potential for leaks. Installation Process: One of the standout features of this project was the installation of 197-foot-long panels, running seamlessly from the ridge to the eave of the roof. This requires precision engineering and careful coordination. Each panel was custom-fabricated on-site to ensure a perfect fit, then carefully lifted and secured in place. This method not only enhances the roof’s structural integrity but also reduces the number of seams, which is critical for long-term durability. The Scale and Cost: To put the size of this roof into perspective, a 200,000-square-foot roof is vast—big enough to house multiple warehouses under a single roof. Covering such an extensive area with precision is no small feat, and the entire re-roofing project came in at $2,200,000. This investment ensures that the building is protected with one of the most reliable and long-lasting roofing systems available, providing peace of mind for years to come
