In this project the warped and deteriorated sheet metal chase cover and trim board was replaced with a new custom fabricated stainless steel chase cover and new wooden trim. Did you know stainless steel is recommended over regular sheet metal for chimney chase covers, because it is significantly more durable and resistant to corrosion? Unlike galvanized or painted sheet metal, stainless steel will not rust or deteriorate over time when exposed to rain, snow, or chimney gases. This ensures a longer lasting solution that protects the chimney structure from water damage and leaks. Though stainless steel may cost more initially, its superior lifespan and performance make it a more cost-effective and reliable choice in the long run.
