Partial Chimney Rebuild

July 2026

When a cracked concrete crown and deteriorating mortar joints put this chimney at risk, Leonard & Sons tore it down 7 courses and rebuilt it to its original height, matching the existing brick as closely as possible. Every joint from top to grade was inspected, ground out, and tuckpointed with matching masonry cement to restore the structure's integrity. A new concrete crown with a overhang and drip edge was formed and poured to shed water properly, with a sealed expansion joint protecting the clay flue tile. The project was finished with a thorough cleaning and complete debris removal — leaving the chimney sound, weathertight, and built to last.
