HVAC Patch Repair Project
Check out this transformation—it’s a perfect example of how you can completely change the "vibe" and the performance of a roof just by getting rid of old, bulky equipment. For this project, we started with a roof that had a massive, old HVAC unit sitting right in the middle of it. If you’ve ever dealt with these, you know those curbs and duct transitions are basically just waiting to leak. They’re a maintenance headache. So, the first big move was decommissioning and hauling that unit off the roof entirely. Once it was gone, we didn't just slap some metal over the hole; we actually prepped the area with a heavy-duty EPDM membrane patch to make sure the foundation was rock-solid and watertight. The real "star of the show" is the finish, though. We installed these brand-new standing seam metal panels. If you look at the "after" shots, you can see how much cleaner that roofline looks without the HVAC unit in the way. Since it’s a standing seam system, all the fasteners are hidden, which means no exposed screws to rust or back out over time. The white finish is also a game-changer. It’s not just for looks; it reflects a ton of heat, which is going to keep the building way cooler. We basically took a cluttered, leak-prone utility roof and turned it into a sleek, high-performance shield. It’s a night-and-day difference!
