This project is a perfect example of why we believe in tearing flat roofs right down to the deck. You can't just cover over old problems. On this residential job, once we ripped up the old roofing material, the wood deck underneath told the real story. You can see staining and signs of wear, especially near the windows and walls where leaks usually start. Instead of ignoring it, we got to work repairing the structure. One of the photos shows our crew actively cutting out a bad section of the decking so we could replace it with fresh wood. We also installed new perimeter blocking over new Tyvek wrap to make sure the edges were solid. It’s ugly work right now, but getting this foundation perfect is the only way to guarantee the new roof will last.
