This Westford, MA project for the Schuler residence included a full roof replacement and a comprehensive attic ventilation improvement to enhance energy efficiency and extend the roof’s lifespan. Our crew began by stripping the entire roof and re-nailing the deck to ensure a solid foundation. We installed Rhino Ice & Water Shield along all eaves, valleys, and penetrations, topped with Mighty Dog U20 Synthetic Underlayment for superior weather protection. The new roofing system features Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles, secured with 1¼” nails for maximum wind resistance. Ventilation was upgraded by adding continuous soffit vents, installing OC VentSure ridge vent, and blocking old gable vents to create proper airflow through the attic. We also installed foam baffles for optimal air circulation.
