Vent Pipe Flashing Replacement + Antenna Bracket Relocation
A precision repair on a metal shingle roof — the kind of job most contractors won't touch because it requires actually understanding how a metal system goes together. The existing 1-1/2" vent pipe flashing had failed, so we selectively removed the surrounding metal shingles (preserving reusable pieces), inspected the deck and pipe for moisture damage, and installed a new lifetime flashing boot rated to resist UV, cracking, and temperature swings. Underneath the new boot we added a layer of Vycor ice and water membrane as a secondary defense, then carefully wove the metal shingles back into the system and sealed everything to manufacturer spec. The finished area looks untouched — which is the whole point. While on-site, we also handled a small side request: relocating an existing bracket from the gable end of the main home to the gable end of the workshop barn, then mounting the homeowner's WiFi antenna onto it. The result: a clean, watertight repair that integrates seamlessly with the existing metal roof, plus a relocated antenna setup — all in one trip. Estimated project investment: $1,699
