Residential Roofing Repair using Metal
We are pleased to report the successful completion of a chimney flashing repair and cricket rebuild project. During the inspection, it was determined that the existing flashing system and cricket structure were no longer effectively diverting water away from the chimney, posing a risk for leaks and water intrusion. To address these issues, our team performed a full rebuild and reinforcement of the critical roofing components around the chimney. Key work completed includes: Rebuilding the chimney cricket to properly redirect water runoff and protect the chimney base Installing a new two-ply roofing system over the cricket area, using SBS-modified base and cap sheets for superior waterproofing and flexibility Removing and replacing all chimney flashing, including counter-flashing and step flashing, ensuring a watertight seal and long-term protection Applying sealants and tie-ins for full integration with the surrounding roofing system This repair not only resolves the immediate water intrusion concerns but also extends the life of the surrounding roof area by ensuring water is properly diverted and sealed against future weather events. The homeowner now has a fully protected chimney area, reinforced to perform reliably for years to come.
