The project involved replacing the existing boiler plant, which consisted of 12 Munchkin 399,000 BTU high-efficiency boilers, with a new Lochinvar FTXL boiler system. The new installation includes nine high-efficiency, 500,000 BTU boilers featuring 98% thermal efficiency, a fire-tube design, and 10:1 turndown capability. The system configuration dedicates three boilers to serving the domestic hot water plate heat exchanger and six boilers to the building’s heating plant. This upgraded boiler configuration supports the building’s domestic hot water and space heating demands while providing modern, high-efficiency equipment designed for reliable operation and improved heating system performance.
