Domestic Hot Water Boiler Replacement
October 2026
NCS completed the replacement of four existing Munchkin 399,000 BTU boilers serving the building’s domestic hot water storage tanks. The project involved upgrading the existing boiler system with four high-efficiency Lochinvar FTXL 400 boilers, rated at 96% efficiency, to support reliable domestic hot water production and improve overall system efficiency. The work included draining, disconnecting, and removing the existing boilers for recycling, followed by the installation of new boiler equipment on concrete pads. NCS installed four primary boiler pumps, condensate neutralizer kits, integrated low-water cutoff protection, and the necessary supply and return piping connections. Additional work included pipe insulation, venting modifications, gas piping connections with gas filters, and the required line- and low-voltage electrical connections. To support coordinated system operation and safety, NCS completed boiler cascade wiring and integrated the emergency stop system. The project scope also included equipment startup, owner training, and coordination of the required local and state permits and inspections. The upgraded boiler system provides a modern, high-efficiency solution for the building’s domestic hot water needs, with manufacturer warranty coverage and an NCS parts and labor warranty included in the project scope.
