NCS completed the replacement of an existing Trane air-cooled chiller with a new Daikin unit to support the building’s cooling system needs. The project included recovering refrigerant from the existing chiller, disconnecting the equipment, and installing the replacement unit. Mechanical work included connecting the new chiller to the existing piping system and filling the system with a 35% glycol mixture. Electrical upgrades included reusing the existing disconnect, installing new wiring and flexible conduit, securing existing conduit supports to meet code requirements, and reinforcing the disconnect rack. Fuses were also upgraded to 150 amps to align with the new equipment’s nameplate requirements.
