We completed a comprehensive insulation upgrade for this basement and crawl space in Cornwall, New York. Our team began by clearing away old, failing fiberglass batts and debris from the exposed floor joists to prepare the surfaces for new materials. We then protected the area with plastic sheeting to safeguard existing mechanical systems, including the silver HVAC ductwork and PEX plumbing lines. We applied spray foam insulation across the basement ceiling and rim joists to create a continuous thermal barrier against the stone foundation. This installation seals critical air gaps and significantly improves the overall energy efficiency of the home.
