We completed a comprehensive deck reconstruction and structural reinforcement for this lakeside home in China, Maine. Our team addressed significant rot and structural separation by replacing the existing weathered wood deck and installing new pressure-treated support posts and bracing. We carefully integrated the new structure around a large, mature tree that grows through the deck platform, ensuring the home’s unique character remained intact. The upgraded exterior features a new wooden deck finished with modern dark metal railings and a custom gate surrounding the central tree. We also performed repairs to the stone-faced foundation and cedar shake siding to ensure a seamless transition between the new carpentry and the original home. These improvements provide a durable, secure outdoor living space overlooking the lake while stabilizing the building’s foundation.
