We completed a custom shade upgrade for this Harbor Springs residence by installing two retractable awnings over the outdoor living areas. We mounted the black-and-white striped fabric units above the French door entryways to provide adjustable UV protection for the cedar shake siding and deck space. The installation required precise mounting against the existing white trim to ensure a clean, integrated finish. These new awnings now allow for versatile use of the patio throughout the day, shielding the space from direct sunlight while maintaining the aesthetic character of the home exterior. This addition provides a functional solution for managing heat and glare on the deck without compromising the architectural style of the property.
