We installed a large retractable awning over an existing composite deck at this home in Charlevoix. Our team mounted the system directly to the exterior siding to provide on-demand shade for the primary outdoor living area. This project focused on enhancing the usability of the deck while maintaining clear views of the surrounding lakefront landscape. The installation featured a tan and white striped fabric that complements the brown siding and light-toned decking materials. We utilized a retractable design, allowing the homeowners to easily extend or retract the cover based on weather conditions. The addition provides a comfortable, shaded space for the lounge chairs and dining area without obstructing the glass-paneled railing.
