OM4 Fiber Installation, Cat6A Shielded Cabling & Wireless Infrastructure Deployment Ring and Ping completed a full-scale network infrastructure upgrade, including OM4 fiber-optic installation, shielded Cat6A cabling, deployment of new IDF cabinets, server rack re-termination, and enterprise wireless integration across production and office environments. This project demonstrates our expertise in high-performance structured cabling and commercial network builds. Learn more about our professional Cat6 and Cat6A network cabling services. Project Scope -OM4 Fiber Optic Installation for New IDF -Installed OM4 multimode fiber to support high-speed backbone connectivity to a new IDF cabinet. -Terminated and tested fiber strands to ensure optimal light levels and performance. -Designed backbone pathways to support future scalability and high-bandwidth demands. Shielded Cat6A Cabling for Wireless Infrastructure -Installed shielded Cat6A cabling to support 16 wireless access points (WAPs) across production and office areas. -Ensured proper grounding and separation for EMI-sensitive production environments. -Terminated, labeled, and certified all Cat6A runs for 10-gigabit readiness. 12U IDF Cabinet – Separate Building Deployment -Installed and built out a 12U IDF cabinet in a separate building. -Integrated a point-to-point wireless bridge connection to extend network connectivity between structures. -Organized cable management, patching, and labeling for long-term maintainability. Server Cabinet Upgrades & APC Re-Termination -Performed re-termination of all existing cabling within two server cabinets. -Re-terminated and properly dressed connections to APC equipment. -Improved rack organization, airflow, and serviceability. Wireless Access Point Mounting -Mounted customer-provided Wireless Access Points in optimal locations for full coverage. -Ensured clean installations with properly supported and labeled cabling. -Testing, Certification, Mapping & Labeling -Certified all copper cabling to Cat6A performance standards. -Mapped and documented cable runs for accurate infrastructure records. -Labeled all terminations to industry best practices for future troubleshooting and expansion. Project Outcomes This deployment delivered: -A high-speed OM4 fiber backbone supporting scalable growth -EMI-protected shielded Cat6A infrastructure in production environments -Seamless network extension via point-to-point wireless bridge -Organized, professionally re-terminated server cabinets -Fully documented, certified, and labeled cabling system -Enterprise-grade wireless coverage across multiple buildings The result is a clean, future-ready, and performance-optimized network infrastructure designed for long-term reliability and operational efficiency.
