Cat6 CMP Structured Cabling Project – Anaheim, CA Ring and Ping provided a comprehensive structured cabling solution for a law firm in Anaheim during their office downsizing and relocation, delivering a clean, high-performance network upgrade that saved significant time and cost on fiber relocation. 30 New Cat6 CMP Drops: Installed 30 premium Cat6 plenum-rated (CMP) cables to support the firm’s requested office workstations—ensuring full Gigabit Ethernet performance, PoE compatibility, and compliance with air-handling space requirements in the new layout. Professional IDF Termination: All cables were neatly terminated into a high-density 48-port patch panel, mounted securely on a two-post floor rack in the new MDF location. Cabling was dressed, organized, and clearly labeled for easy management and future expansions. Full Testing & Certification: Every Cat6 run was rigorously tested and certified using the Fluke DSX-5000 Certifier—verifying compliance with TIA/EIA Cat6 standards (including NEXT, insertion loss, return loss, ACR-F, PSACR-F, and length parameters). Full certification reports were provided for documentation and peace of mind. ISP Fiber Relocation: Carefully re-routed the existing ISP fiber optic cable back to the MPOE (Minimum Point of Entry), then pulled and terminated new fiber backbone cabling to the relocated MDF. This in-house solution avoided the ISP’s quoted 10x higher cost and lengthy delays, keeping the firm’s internet service uninterrupted during the transition. Efficient & Low-Impact Execution: Work was completed with minimal disruption to ongoing legal operations, thorough site cleanup, and close coordination to meet the firm’s timeline during the downsizing process. Project Results The law firm now operates from a streamlined, downsized space with a fully certified, reliable Cat6 CMP network backbone and seamlessly relocated fiber connectivity.
