We sealed off this room as it was too large and the walls too white to allow the bees to fly around. We call this a "Suicide Swarm" because the bees moved into a space that would not permit the colony to grow large enough nor have enough space to store honey to make it through winter. Evidence of old comb indicated that the bee colony likely grew, swarmed, died and another moved in to repeat the process. Growth, reproduction, die off. Hopefully since we sealed the entrance we prevented future colonies from making the same fatal mistake.
