Habitat Snag Creation for Wildlife in Issaquah
We created a habitat snag for a residential property in Issaquah to provide a natural-looking feature for birds and other wildlife. Rather than removing the entire tree, we retained the trunk as standing habitat and used coronet cuts at the top to create a more natural broken-stem appearance. Coronet cuts help mimic the irregular shape of storm- or age-damaged wood, making the snag look more like a naturally occurring wildlife feature instead of a flat-topped trunk. This Issaquah habitat snag project included: • Habitat snag creation for birds and wildlife • Coronet cuts for a more natural appearance • Retention of standing tree structure for habitat value • Selective reduction of the remaining tree structure Sound Tree Care provides habitat snag creation and selective tree retention in Issaquah for homeowners who want to support birds and wildlife while preserving useful standing tree structure on their property.
