This project for Washington University School of Medicine at the in the Central West End involved a small but highly complex commercial roofing installation requiring careful coordination, advanced materials, and strict safety controls. The scope included work over an existing metal roof, with roof flutes filled using EPS flute fill insulation, followed by a mechanically fastened HD cover board and TPO roofing system. Additional components included Siplast modified bitumen, Parapro flashings, tapered insulation, and multiple Sika Sarnafil (Situra) Redline expansion joints, all designed to manage movement, drainage, and long-term performance. Because the project was located above an active train yard with moving equipment, safety and ground control were critical. Our team worked in close coordination with the client’s safety protocols to ensure uninterrupted operations and a secure jobsite at all times. This project was self-performed by our union crews, demonstrating our ability to execute technically demanding work in sensitive, high-risk environments.
