Barrington, NH Roof Replacement & Structural Deck Restoration At this home located at 9 Cooper Road in Barrington, New Hampshire, our team completed a comprehensive roofing project that involved much more than a standard roof replacement. The project began with the removal of the existing metal roofing system. As the roof was stripped, we discovered the metal had been installed over strapping that was fastened through a full layer of ice and water shield covering two existing layers of asphalt shingles. Unfortunately, this improper installation trapped moisture over time and concealed extensive deterioration beneath the surface. Once exposed, we found that the original barn board roof decking and plywood sheathing had rotted throughout much of the roof system. To provide the homeowners with a long-lasting solution, we completely removed the compromised materials and rebuilt the roof structure properly. New barn boards were installed across the existing roof framing, which consisted of beams spaced approximately 48 inches on center. We then installed 5/8" CDX plywood sheathing over the newly installed barn boards to create a solid, code-compliant foundation for the new roofing system. To ensure superior protection against New England weather, we installed the Owens Corning® Roofing System, including Owens Corning RhinoRoof® Ice & Water Barrier and Owens Corning RhinoRoof® Synthetic Underlayment. The project was completed with Owens Corning TruDefinition® Duration® architectural shingles in the Estate Grey color, giving the home a beautiful, timeless appearance while providing exceptional durability and protection.
