This project in Claremont, New Hampshire required far more than a standard roof replacement. After removing the existing roofing materials, our team discovered the home had barn board roof decking, which was not suitable for the installation of a modern architectural shingle system. To provide the homeowners with a durable, long-lasting roofing system, we installed new 5/8" CDX plywood sheathing over the existing barn board decking, creating a solid, code-compliant foundation for the new roof. Once the new roof deck was in place, we installed a high-performance synthetic underlayment to provide an additional layer of protection against wind-driven rain and moisture.
