Back to Beautiful: Drainage and Sod Project for Jesus Corona! 🌿💧 Nothing ruins a beautiful backyard like standing water and mud. Our recent project for Jesus Corona was a perfect example of how addressing the fundamentals—water management—is the key to a stunning, usable lawn! The Challenge: Soggy Yard, Missing Drainage The project started with a clear need: The existing backyard grass was unusable, and heavy rains turned the area into a soggy mess. The first step was a complete reset. What We Did: Complete Grass Removal: We started by removing all the existing grass and problematic soil from the entire backyard area. Leveling and Grading: We meticulously leveled and graded the entire outdoor space. This critical step ensures that the foundation is sloped correctly to facilitate adequate water runoff before the new sod is even laid. The Solution: A Complete Drainage System The next phase was installing a robust system to protect the new lawn and the property's foundation: Complete Drainage Installation: We built a comprehensive, high-capacity drainage system throughout the backyard. PVC Connections: This system utilizes durable 4-inch PVC connections to quickly and efficiently move a large volume of water. Catch Basins and Downspouts: We connected all downspouts and installed strategic catch basins to collect rainwater directly from the roof and key low points. Storm Day Ready: The entire system was designed to run water out to the front ditch on storm days, ensuring the ground remains dry, firm, and never soggy or muddy again! The Transformation: Instant Green Lawn With the ground thoroughly graded and protected by the new drainage system, the final step was the beautiful finish: Sod Installation: We installed fresh, high-quality sod across the entire backyard. Sod installation provides an instant, dense, green lawn that is immediately ready to enjoy, eliminating the long wait associated with seeding.
