This customer lives by the old saying "The more the merrier"! They elected to go above and beyond the recommended level of insulation (18" (R49)), and bring their level to 20" (R60). The reason they had the opportunity to do this is because they have a very tall attic, with a steep roof pitch. Adding too much insulation to an attic can cause a negative result by cutting off proper attic ventilation. Because of the steep roof pitch this customer was no where near the 'Danger zone'. This is just one of the things we investigate upon our initial inspection.
