Basement Structural Carpentry

At the time of the inspection, the primary beam in the basement of this Perrysburg, OH home was showing signs of insect damage and wood rot. The two primary beams were no longer adequately supporting the structure above and the joist span exceeded current building code as a result of the age of the home. The floors were bouncy and the existing joists could no longer withstand the weight of the structure and walls above.
