Attic Knee Wall Insulation and Access Door Sealing in Chattanooga

We completed an attic weatherization project in Chattanooga, focusing on sealing access points and improving thermal performance. Our team identified drafty knee wall openings and attic access doors that were compromising the home's energy efficiency. We retrofitted these openings with custom-fitted materials to create a tighter building envelope. We installed high-performance GreenGuard XPS insulation boards into the attic doorway frames to block heat transfer. Additionally, we mounted plywood panels flush within the drywall kneewalls and finished the installation with unfinished pine baseboard molding. These upgrades help maintain more consistent temperatures in the upper living spaces while reducing the workload on the existing HVAC system.
