Located in a luxury waterfront estate in Fort Myers, this project completely transformed the rear elevation of a multimillion-dollar home. The original design consisted primarily of solid walls with only two door openings, limiting natural light, views, and the connection between the interior living spaces and the outdoor waterfront environment. Our team demolished virtually the entire back side of the residence, removing multiple wall sections from floor to ceiling and creating five interconnected structural openings across the rear elevation of the home. The new design incorporated a series of custom impact-rated panoramic sliding glass door systems standing 10 feet tall and extending across more than 55 feet of the home's rear façade. The layout was engineered to follow the architectural footprint of the residence, creating a continuous glass wall that wraps across multiple sections of the home while maintaining structural integrity and meeting Florida's stringent hurricane and impact requirements. The result was a dramatic transformation from a largely solid rear wall into a breathtaking glass façade. Natural light floods the interior spaces, waterfront views are visible throughout the home, and the transition between indoor and outdoor living areas feels virtually seamless. What was once a closed-off rear elevation became one of the home's defining architectural features.
