This sunroom roof had numerous aging seams and areas where the original coating had begun to deteriorate from years of Southern California sun exposure. Before applying the new roof coating, we mechanically wire brushed the entire roof to remove loose material and create a clean surface for proper adhesion. Every seam was reinforced and sealed using Uniflex OneFlash reinforced flashing sealant before the field of the roof received a heavy application of Uniflex Silicone44 at approximately 3 gallons per roofing square. Applying the proper amount of coating is critical to achieving the manufacturer's recommended dry film thickness and maximizing the life of the restoration system. Unlike a complete roof replacement, a silicone restoration can often extend the service life of an existing roof while providing a seamless, UV-resistant waterproof membrane over the entire surface. If maintained properly, this restoration will help protect the roof from ponding water, sun exposure, and normal weathering for years to come.
