Oceanside Mansard TPO & Shingle Roof Replacement
This Oceanside project involved a multi-section roof on a residential home featuring a mansard-style front with TPO and main sloped sections with asphalt shingles. The existing roof had reached the end of its service life with leaks, worn shingles, and failing TPO seams. We performed a full tear-off, replaced damaged decking with new CDX plywood sheeting on the mansard, installed 2” insulation, and mechanically attached a WeatherBond TPO system on the mansard front. The main roof received new Owens Corning Duration COOL shingles in Mountainside color with proper underlayment and ventilation details. The result is a clean, durable, and code-compliant roof that performs well in the coastal marine layer environment common to Oceanside. Lesson: Mansard roofs with TPO transitions to shingle sections require careful attention to deck condition and attachment methods—addressing the substrate first prevents issues years later.
