San Marcos Tile Roof Lift and Lay with Solar Stanchion Upgrade

We completed a full tile roof lift and lay for this residential property in San Marcos to address aging underlayment and long-term leak concerns around the existing solar system. During the project, our team removed and reset the existing concrete roof tiles while upgrading the waterproofing system beneath the roof assembly. The new system included two layers of Malarkey UDL underlayment throughout the roof, along with additional protection using self-adhered modified bitumen in the valleys and eave areas where water exposure is highest. These upgrades help provide enhanced durability and long-term weather protection beneath the tile system. One of the major issues we identified was the original solar attachment system, which had poorly designed penetrations that contributed to leak risks over time. We upgraded the solar attachments to professional-grade stanchions designed specifically for tile roofing applications. Each penetration was properly double-flashed, creating a waterproof seal at both the underlayment layer and the tile level for superior leak protection and long-term performance. After completing the waterproofing upgrades and solar integration improvements, the existing tiles were carefully reset to restore the appearance and integrity of the roof system.
