Installation of Aerobic Treatment Private Sewage Disposal System (Norweco)
Our team installed a complete Norweco Aerobic Treatment Private Sewage Disposal System to provide advanced, environmentally safe wastewater treatment for a multi-structure property that includes a main home, pool house, and barn. System Layout & Components: • Sewage Piping: Installed 4-inch sewage pipe beginning 5 feet from each structure, directing flow toward the treatment system. Wastewater from the main home and pool house drains to the trash tank by gravity, while sewage from the barn is ejected to the same tank through a dedicated lift station. • Lift Stations: Each lift station includes a 560-gallon tank, sewage/effluent pump, high-water alarm, and dedicated electrical connection from the exterior of the building for safe and efficient operation. • Trash Tank & Aeration System: Sewage is first collected in a 560-gallon trash tank, where solids are separated and retained. The clarified wastewater then flows into a 1060-gallon aeration tank equipped with a Norweco aerobic treatment unit, which continuously introduces air to promote biological treatment and produce cleaner effluent. • Effluent Disposal Field: Treated effluent is pumped from a secondary lift station into a 1,060-square-foot leach field built using an Infiltrator Chamber System. This design provides 5 square feet of drainage per linear foot, totaling 212 linear feet of chambered drainfield for reliable subsurface dispersal. Maintenance Requirements: Per Norweco specifications, the system requires two maintenance visits per year during the first two years, followed by annual service thereafter. The trash tank should be pumped and cleaned every 2–4 years, depending on usage. Additional Work: Project also included water main installation to complete full site utilities.
