Beacon Central Air with Allergy-Focused IAQ

This Beacon home had a gas boiler but no air conditioning. We installed a fully ducted Carrier heat pump system for efficient cooling and supplemental heating, integrating it with the existing boiler for cold-weather backup. Insulation was installed incorrectly, allowing drafts and dust. We replaced it, sealed the rim joists, and tightened the envelope. To address allergy concerns, we added an Aprilaire media filter, DustFree ionizer, and an Ecobee smart thermostat for scheduling and remote control. After installation, we balanced airflow, verified static pressure, and commissioned the system to manufacturer specs. Modern comfort, cleaner air, and improved efficiency—without abandoning the existing boiler.
