Saugerties, NY — Right-Sized HVAC + Duct Replacement
This well-built, energy-efficient home was originally sized using square footage alone, which led to major comfort issues. The previous contractor installed a 5-ton system—almost three times larger than the home actually needed. It short-cycled, ran loud, and never felt right. When the homeowners complained, they were sold a 3-ton system next, which was still oversized. Our load calculations showed the correct size to be 1.5 tons for this nearly passive home. Even after the equipment was downsized, the ducts were still sized for 3 tons, which restricted airflow and kept the house uncomfortable. We replaced the ductwork with properly sized runs to match the new equipment. To address allergies and improve indoor air quality, we also installed: High-efficiency media filtration Ionizer with UV light The result: balanced airflow, quieter operation, cleaner air, and a system that finally performs the way it should. Another win for proper load calculations and duct design.
