Beacon, NY — Heat Pump Upgrade for Mold Allergies

This 1980s ranch had central AC that tested positive for mold, and the homeowners’ son has severe mold allergies. We isolated the affected rooms, removed the old system, and installed a new heat pump with an Aprilaire media filter to capture particulates and spores and Dust Free Active Gold Ionizer to sanitize the air. To actively monitor indoor air, we added a HAVEN IAQ sensor that triggers filtration when particulate levels rise. We installed Ecobee smart thermostats for both the heat pump and the existing oil boiler. Unfortunately, this particular boiler can’t integrate into a single control—some equipment just doesn’t like to share. Cleaner air, better control, and reliable comfort for a sensitive home.
