In this latest project, we combined a Daikin air source heat pump with a Heat Geek Super Cylinder to deliver an exceptionally efficient heating and hot water system. The Heat Geek Super Cylinder is specifically engineered to operate at ultra-low flow temperatures, allowing the heat pump to transfer energy into the cylinder with maximum efficiency. Thanks to the cylinder’s enhanced silver insulation and high-performance heat exchanger, heat transfer losses are minimised while still providing the homeowner with plenty of reliable hot water throughout the day. This intelligent pairing significantly boosts the overall annual system efficiency, not just for hot water production but for the entire heating system. To take this even further, we configured the system to produce hot water during cheap overnight smart-tariff periods. As a result, the customer is currently generating hot water at an astonishing ~1–2 pence per kWh — an incredible real-world example of how electrified heating can outperform traditional systems when designed correctly. 📐 Smart Design Starts Before Installation Another standout feature of this project is our advanced heat-loss design capability. Using innovative heat-loss software, we can accurately design a system directly from architectural plans, even if the property isn’t yet ready for a physical heat-loss survey. This means homeowners and developers can move forward with confidence at an earlier stage, knowing the system will be correctly sized and future-proofed. This level of design accuracy also allows us to seamlessly coordinate with our insulation team, ensuring the right insulation upgrades are installed at the right time — reducing heat demand, lowering flow temperatures even further, and maximising long-term performance. 🚀 Designed.
